Asset tracking FAQs
Does the Barra Fusion need wiring?
No. It runs on its own batteries and screws, bolts, rivets or cable-ties onto the asset. There's nothing to connect, so it suits generators, containers and gear with no power source.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 10 years with one location update a day, about 2 years when it reports during movement, and about 9 months with hourly updates. Battery life depends on settings, temperature and coverage.
Will it work inside a shed or warehouse?
Yes. Outdoors it uses GPS. Indoors it uses nearby Wi-Fi networks to find its position, with mobile towers as a backup.
What happens if a generator is stolen?
You switch the tracker to recovery mode, and it starts reporting its location in real time so you can find the asset and pass the location to police.
Can I tell if someone removes the tracker?
Yes. It has magnetic tamper detection and sends an alert if it's removed from the asset.
Is it tough enough for building sites and mines?
It's IP68 waterproof and dustproof and IK07 impact rated, and works from −30 °C to +60 °C.
Can I see how much my equipment is used?
Yes. It measures run hours from movement, so you can see which assets earn their keep and which sit idle.
